Priorities Committee Meeting—Executive Session

Minutes – March 26, 2009

School Administration Building – 8:00 P.M.

Members Present:  Glenn Allen, School Committee; Mitch Blaustein, School Committee;

                               Charles Goodman, Finance Committee; William Heitin, Selectman;

                               Ira Miller, Finance Committee, Chair; Richard Powell, Selectman;

                               (Hamilton)

Other Attendees:    Barbara Dunham, Bill Fowler, Ben Puritz, Alison Rutley

1. Ira Miller stated that the Finance Committee was dismayed at 2% increase given to Selectmen Executives and 2.5% given to School Department.  Suggestion to remove the 2% and 2.5% amounts from the Selectmen and School sector allocations.

2. There was discussion regarding the importance of controlling salary increases and health insurance costs on the operating budget.  Continued discussion on contracts not yet settled and ongoing negotiations.

3. A MOTION was made by Mitch Blaustein and SECONDED by Glenn Allen to move back to open session.

4. VOTED:  6-0-0.

5. Executive Session adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
